Keynotes and Workshops

Most conversation about AI asks what the technology can do for us. Johan speaks about what it does to us, and what leaders can do about it. Intelligence has become abundant and cheap. Judgment has not, and it is formed through exactly the work that AI now does first: the entry-level struggle where future leaders used to learn to decide. Whether an organisation's AI erodes that capacity or strengthens it is a design choice, made at the top, often without anyone recognising it as one. Johan helps boards and executive teams make it on purpose.
He brings twenty-five years of leading institutional change across four triple-crown-accredited business schools and a Swiss-based think tank, recent research with hundreds of global executives on AI-augmented leadership, and thirty years of putting rooms to work as co-inventor of LEGO® Serious Play®. His book, Human Magic: Leading with Wisdom in an Age of Algorithms (Routledge, 2026), is the ground beneath every session.
Three ways to work with Johan
The Last Moat: Holding On to Your Human Magic
Keynote, 45 to 60 minutes
When intelligence is cheap, judgment is the advantage, and it is quietly draining from the places in the organisation where it used to form. Audiences leave knowing where to look, and which choices decide whether their AI strengthens judgment or erodes it.
The Three AI Decisions Only the CEO Can Make
Board and executive session, 30 to 45 minutes
Which capabilities to protect, which judgments to keep human, and what the organisation is for once machines carry the routine: three decisions that cannot be delegated down, or to the technology. Leaders leave with the three named, and a way to tell their board which ones they have actually made.
Brief the Machine
Workshop with LEGO® Serious Play®, half day
An AI agent is only as good as its brief, and most teams have never said out loud what their work is for, what matters in it, and where a machine must stop and ask. The team leaves with that picture built by hand, and a working agent brief it can use on Monday.
Each session is adapted to the audience, and all three are available as executive-education modules, board offsites, or on-stage conversations. The thinking behind them, from Human Magic in the Loop to the Next Management, is at johanroos.one/ideas.
